Can writing about birth trauma prevent PTSD and help moms bond?

NCT ID NCT05662423

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple writing exercise can help prevent post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in women who have experienced a stressful childbirth. Participants who recently gave birth and are at risk for PTSD will write about their birth experience for 15 minutes on three consecutive days. Researchers will then measure PTSD symptoms, mother-infant bonding, and other mental health outcomes around 2-3 months after delivery.
