New combo treatment aims to cut wisdom tooth pain and swelling

Summary
This study tests two treatments—a steroid given before surgery and a gel placed in the tooth socket—to see if they reduce pain, swelling, and jaw stiffness after wisdom tooth removal. About 40 healthy adults will be randomly assigned to receive one or both treatments, or standard care. The goal is to find a better way to manage common post-surgery discomfort.
