Lack of information keeps stroke patients from continuing muscle treatment
NCT ID NCT07422428
First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at why people who had a stroke stop getting botulinum toxin (Botox) injections for muscle stiffness. Researchers reviewed medical records of 81 patients over 12 years and found that most received only one injection. The main reason for stopping was that patients did not know they needed ongoing treatment.
