Smart patch listens for wheezes: could it replace the stethoscope?

NCT ID NCT06691971

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study is testing a small, wearable device called AeviceMD that listens to lung sounds to detect wheezing. Researchers want to see if the device can find wheezes as accurately as a doctor using a stethoscope. The study will include 160 people aged 3 and older who are having an asthma attack. If successful, the device could help doctors check breathing problems from a distance.
