First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether sending health tips via WhatsApp could help families in Colombia prevent diseases spread by mosquitoes, like dengue, Zika, and chikungunya. About 900 households took part, with some getting WhatsApp messages plus community support, others only community support, and a control group. Researchers checked if people cleaned water tanks more often and if mosquito numbers dropped.
