Summary
This study tests a simple tool where parents of children with severe brain conditions pick 1-3 photos to show ICU doctors what matters to their family. The goal is to see if this helps parents feel heard and less stressed. About 160 families will take part, and researchers will check if the tool is easy to use and well-liked.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Photo-narrative communication intervention
What this could lead to
If it works, this could give families a simple way to help doctors see their child as a person, potentially reducing stress and improving hospital experiences.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early pilot study focused on feasibility, not proof of benefit. It may not reduce stress or change outcomes, and results may not apply to other hospitals or families.
