First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a wearable sensor could help monitor Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and predict sudden worsening of symptoms, known as exacerbations. 77 people with COPD wore a device for 3 months that tracked things like heart rate, activity, and coughing. The goal was to see if this data could help doctors spot problems early. The study did not test a treatment, but rather explored if this technology could be useful for future care.
