First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special nursing approach based on Watson's Theory of Human Caring could help reduce fear and improve the birth experience for women having a normal vaginal delivery. Thirty pregnant women were randomly assigned to receive either this caring-focused nursing care or standard care during labor. Researchers measured fear levels and birth experience using questionnaires, finding that the caring approach may help mothers feel less afraid and more positive about childbirth.
