Could water exercises be the secret to preventing senior falls?

NCT ID NCT06720974

Summary

This study is testing whether balance training exercises done in water can help prevent falls in older adults. Researchers will work with 15 seniors from Toronto who have a history of falls or balance problems, having them complete twice-weekly water exercise sessions for 6 weeks. The main goal is to see if this water-based approach is practical and acceptable, potentially offering a gentler alternative to land-based balance training that might reduce joint pain and fear of falling.
