First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding tranexamic acid to a standard clotting factor treatment (recombinant von Willebrand factor) can better prevent heavy bleeding after childbirth in women with von Willebrand disease. Twenty pregnant women with the condition were randomly assigned to receive either the combination or the clotting factor alone. The main goal was to measure blood loss at delivery, with follow-up for three weeks to check for complications like clots or need for transfusion.
