New VR and brain zap combo aims to calm war trauma in ukraine

Summary

This study tests whether combining virtual reality therapy with gentle brain stimulation can reduce PTSD symptoms in veterans and civilians affected by war in Ukraine. About 514 participants will attend 10 therapy sessions using VR goggles to safely face traumatic memories, with some also receiving a mild electrical current on the scalp. The goal is to ease intrusive memories, anxiety, and depression, and improve daily life.
