VR boosts surgery skills for zambian doctors in breakthrough study
NCT ID NCT07403526
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether virtual reality (VR) training could help junior doctors in Zambia improve their skills for a life-saving surgery called postpartum hysterectomy. 33 doctors were randomly assigned to either a 9-day VR training program or standard training. The VR group showed much better improvement in surgical knowledge, confidence, and hands-on skills compared to the standard group.
