First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) for relaxation helps mothers of premature babies produce more breast milk and feel more confident about breastfeeding. Forty-four first-time mothers with babies in the NICU used VR headsets to watch calming nature videos and listen to music before expressing milk. The results showed that VR relaxation may improve milk production and breastfeeding confidence compared to standard care.
