Virtual reality workouts may ease breathing and boost heart recovery after bypass surgery

NCT ID NCT07331558

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding virtual reality (VR) to exercise training helps people who had heart bypass surgery breathe easier, get fitter, and feel better. 66 adults with reduced heart function and ongoing shortness of breath will be split into three groups: one doing VR-enhanced circuit training, one doing standard circuit training, and one doing circuit training at home via video. All groups will also do a gentle breathing exercise. The goal is to see if VR makes rehab more effective.
