Turning dentist visits into a game: VR headsets aim to calm anxious kids
NCT ID NCT07167394
Summary
This study is testing if playing a special virtual reality game during a dental filling can help children feel less pain and anxiety compared to the dentist's usual calming talk-through method. Researchers will enroll 88 children, aged 6 to 10, who are visiting the dentist for the first time. Half will use VR glasses with an interactive game during treatment, while the other half will experience the standard 'tell-show-do' approach, to see which method works better.
