Summary
This study tested whether using a virtual reality (VR) headset during minor cancer surgeries could help patients feel less pain and anxiety. Forty-two adult cancer patients having surgery with only local anesthesia were randomly assigned to use the VR headset or not. The VR software was designed to promote relaxation through hypnosis and calming techniques, aiming to improve the patient's experience.
