New drug combo shows promise for blood cancers, but cure not yet in sight

Summary
This study tests two drugs, vorinostat and azacitidine, together in people with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) or acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The goal is to find the safest dose and see how well the combination works at controlling the disease. About 135 adults with these blood disorders are taking part. While the treatment may help reduce cancer cells, it is not expected to be a cure, and ongoing management may still be needed.
