Your voice could reveal swallowing trouble: new study
NCT ID NCT05439447
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study collected voice recordings and sensor data from 259 adults with swallowing difficulties. The goal was to see if changes in voice can accurately detect swallowing problems, like food or liquid going into the airway. Researchers compared voice tests with a standard X-ray swallow test to find key voice markers. This could lead to a simple, non-face-to-face way to diagnose and monitor swallowing disorders.
