New drug aims to stop bleeding in emergency surgeries for blood thinner users

NCT ID NCT07288489

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This phase 3 trial tests whether a single dose of VMX-C001 can control bleeding better than usual care in 800 patients who take blood thinners (FXa DOACs) and need urgent high-risk surgery. Participants receive either VMX-C001 or standard treatment before their procedure. The main goal is to see if bleeding control is rated good or excellent by experts who don't know which treatment was given.
