Experimental injection tested for patients facing amputation
NCT ID NCT00696124
Summary
This early study tested the safety of an experimental injection called VM202 in people with severe leg artery disease (critical limb ischemia) who had no other treatment options. Twelve patients with constant pain or non-healing ulcers received injections in their leg muscles to see if the treatment was safe and might improve blood flow. The main goal was to find a safe dose, while also checking if it reduced pain or improved circulation measurements over one year.
