First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests a small mesh tube (stent) placed in a narrowed brain vein to see if it can safely reduce pulsatile tinnitus—a rhythmic whooshing sound in the ear. Fifteen adults with severe tinnitus for at least a year will receive the VivaStent and be monitored for 12 months. The goal is to check safety and whether the stent can relieve symptoms.
