First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested an experimental drug called varoglutamstat (PQ912) in people with early Alzheimer's disease. The goal was to see if it was safe and could slow down memory and thinking problems. The trial was stopped early, but researchers looked at brain activity and cognitive changes in 112 participants over 24 weeks. The drug is not a cure, but aims to control the disease by targeting toxic proteins in the brain.
