Vitamin B6 may tame blood pressure spikes during exercise

NCT ID NCT06369350

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether vitamin B6 can reduce the sharp rise in blood pressure that happens during exercise after a temporary reduction in leg blood flow (simulating injury). Researchers will measure blood pressure, heart rate, and walking time in 30 healthy adults aged 21-70. The goal is to understand if blocking a nerve protein called P2X3 with vitamin B6 can help people with peripheral artery disease exercise more comfortably.
