NCT ID NCT06727942
First seen Jan 10, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a virtual reality treadmill program can improve motor and cognitive function in adults up to age 75. Participants will walk on a 360-degree treadmill while wearing a VR headset, doing daily-life tasks like grocery shopping. The goal is to see if this training reduces fall risk and boosts quality of life compared to standard exercise.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Virtual reality treadmill training (V-TARGET intervention)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a fun, safe way for older adults to improve balance, thinking, and daily living skills, potentially reducing falls.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 60 participants. The benefits may not be large or lasting, and the VR setup may not be practical for widespread use.
