First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a virtual reality (VR) program is a practical and acceptable way to treat phantom limb pain in people who just had a leg amputated. Twenty participants tried the VR program daily for about 17 sessions in the hospital, at home, or in therapy clinics. Researchers measured how much pain and nausea people felt, how long they used the VR, and whether more VR use led to less pain.
