First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether wearing a virtual reality headset during an epidural injection for lower back and leg pain could make the procedure less painful and less anxiety-provoking. Researchers compared the experience of 116 patients who received the injection with or without the headset. The goal was to see if this simple, drug-free tool could improve comfort during a common but often painful treatment.
