Virtual reality may calm shaky hands – new study tests it

NCT ID NCT06393439

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether doing hand movements in virtual reality can reduce shaking in people with functional tremor. About 48 people with tremor or healthy volunteers will try VR tasks while researchers measure reaction time and brain activity. The goal is to learn how the brain controls tremor, not to provide a treatment.
