First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) goggles during a tooth extraction can lower anxiety in adults. 119 people having at least two teeth pulled under local anesthesia were split into two groups: one used VR during the procedure, the other did not. Participants filled out anxiety questionnaires before and during the surgery to measure the effect. The goal was to see if VR can make dental visits less stressful.
