VR goggles could replace bulky eye test machines for kids

NCT ID NCT05150197

First seen May 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study compares a new virtual reality (VR) goggle system called VisuALL to the standard machine-based test for measuring peripheral vision in children and young adults. Researchers will enroll 1000 healthy children and those with eye conditions to see if the VR test works just as well. The test takes about 30 minutes, is painless, and does not require eye drops. There are no direct benefits for participants, but the results could make vision testing easier and more accessible for kids in the future.
