First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 01, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looks at how having control over a virtual environment changes how people feel pain and anxiety. Twenty healthy adults will experience mild pain and anxiety in different virtual settings—some they can control, some they cannot. The goal is to understand how the brain and body respond, which may help design better non-drug approaches for pain and anxiety in the future.
