Simple videos transform dental care for autistic children

NCT ID NCT07492810

Summary

This study tested two video-based training methods to help children with autism improve their toothbrushing skills and oral health. Researchers worked with 120 children aged 6-12, comparing peer video modeling (watching other children brush) with 3D jaw model videos. The peer video method proved most effective, significantly reducing plaque buildup and improving brushing skills, with benefits lasting at least six months.
