Gamers and goggles: a new way to boost athletic eyesight?
NCT ID NCT05956938
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether training with action video games or stroboscopic glasses can improve dynamic visual acuity—the ability to see moving objects clearly. Thirty healthy adults without vision problems took part in short training sessions. The goal was to compare which method better enhances visual performance in athletes.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Stroboscopic glasses and action video games
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could point toward simple, fun ways to improve athletes' visual skills, like tracking moving objects more clearly.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, completed study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to all athletes. The training was very short (just 1 hour total), so lasting benefits are uncertain.
