Pre-Surgery video may calm nerves and boost recovery in Weight-Loss surgery patients

NCT ID NCT07509073

First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tested whether a short educational video watched before bariatric surgery could lower patients' fear and improve their recovery. Fifty-one adults having weight-loss surgery were randomly assigned to either watch the video or receive standard care. Researchers measured fear levels and recovery quality using standard questionnaires. The goal was to see if a simple, low-cost video could make the surgical experience less stressful and help patients bounce back faster.
