VA launches major trial to bridge the 'Deadly Gap' and prevent veteran suicide

NCT ID NCT07356492

Summary

This study is testing an enhanced support program for service members at high risk of suicide as they leave the military. It will enroll 2,700 participants to see if pairing them with a peer sponsor and connecting them to targeted VA healthcare services can reduce suicide risk, ease the transition to civilian life, and improve mental health. The goal is to prevent suicide during the vulnerable first year after military service.
