New study: jumping higher may predict safer return to play after ACL surgery

NCT ID NCT07297511

First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at whether vertical jump tests can better measure how ready athletes are to return to sports after ACL reconstruction surgery. Current tests may miss hidden muscle control problems that increase re-injury risk. Researchers will compare jump performance between 36 athletes who had ACL surgery and healthy athletes. The goal is to improve return-to-play decisions and keep athletes safer.
