ICU breakthrough? study tests if waiting one hour makes breathing tube removal safer
NCT ID NCT07324460
Summary
This study aims to find the safest way to remove breathing tubes from critically ill patients who have been on ventilators for over 3 days. Researchers will compare two approaches: removing the tube immediately versus waiting one hour on ventilator support before removal. The goal is to reduce the risk that patients will need the breathing tube reinserted or experience other complications.
