New drug duo aims to stop leukemia from coming back

NCT ID NCT07537257

First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding venetoclax to standard chemotherapy can better prevent acute myeloid leukemia (AML) from returning after initial remission. About 232 adults aged 18–65 who are in remission will receive either the standard chemo or the combo. The main goal is to see if the combo leads to fewer leftover cancer cells (MRD-negative) and longer survival.
