New combo could make stem cell transplants safer and more effective

NCT ID NCT07214064

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 42 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding the drug venetoclax to the usual pre-transplant chemotherapy can help people with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or high-risk myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) without causing more harm. About 27 adults aged 18–75 will receive this new combination before a donor stem cell transplant. The main goal is to see if more patients survive at least 28 days after the transplant.
