First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a new drug called velzatinib against the standard treatment imatinib for people with a type of stomach or intestinal cancer (GIST) that has spread or cannot be removed by surgery. About 800 adults who have not had prior treatment for advanced GIST will take part. The goal is to see if velzatinib can keep the cancer from growing longer and is safe.
