New study pits two Vein-Closing methods against each other

NCT ID NCT07561320

First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study compares two treatments for varicose veins in the legs: foam sclerotherapy (injecting a foam to close the vein) and mechanochemical ablation (using a device and medication). Fifty patients will be randomly assigned to one treatment and followed to see which keeps the vein closed longer, improves quality of life, and causes less pain. Both are done with local anesthesia and allow quick recovery.
