New approach aims to prevent painful side effects for women after cancer radiation

NCT ID NCT07473271

Summary

This study is testing special vaginal exercisers and dilation tubes to help prevent painful narrowing and scarring that can occur after pelvic radiation therapy for gynecological cancers like cervical or endometrial cancer. The research involves 76 women who have completed radiation treatment and will use these devices regularly for rehabilitation. The main goal is to see if this approach reduces the development of vaginal stenosis, a common but often overlooked side effect that can impact sexual comfort and quality of life.
