Summary
This study will compare two types of catheters used in newborns who need long-term IV access: umbilical venous catheters (UVCs) and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs). Researchers will track complications, how long each catheter stays in place, and rates of serious bloodstream infections. The goal is to help doctors choose the safest option for fragile infants in the NICU.
