Shining a light on implant safety: can UV stop metal shedding?
NCT ID NCT06759870
Summary
This study is testing whether treating dental implants with ultraviolet (UV) light before placement can reduce the release of tiny titanium particles into the body. Researchers will compare implants treated with UV light to standard implants in 64 patients, measuring titanium levels and implant stability over three months. The goal is to see if this simple light treatment can make implants safer and more stable by helping bone attach better and reducing corrosion.
