First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at 750 first-time mothers who had a C-section and wanted birth control. It compared getting a copper IUD right after delivery versus taking progesterone-only pills to see which method leads to fewer uterine scar defects (called niches). The goal was to find the safer contraceptive option for healing after a first C-section.
