First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This early study tests if a patient's own urine-derived cells can be used to repair the cornea, the clear front part of the eye. The goal is to improve vision and reduce swelling in people with corneal endothelial cell dysfunction, a condition that can lead to blindness. Only 3 participants will receive the cell transplant, and researchers will monitor safety and changes in eye health for 6 months.
