Social media warning labels tested to curb junk food cravings in teens

NCT ID NCT07227519

First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding warning labels to social media posts about ultra-processed foods helps teens and young adults (ages 13-29) recognize these foods and think twice before buying them. About 1,000 participants in the U.S. will view posts with or without a warning label and answer survey questions. The goal is to see if simple labels can improve understanding and influence food choices.
