Summary
This study tests whether the oral medication upadacitinib can safely treat adults hospitalized with a severe flare of ulcerative colitis. Researchers want to see if it reduces the need for emergency surgery or rescue treatments within the first two weeks. Fifty participants will take the drug daily while in the hospital and be followed for up to a year to monitor outcomes and side effects.
