New hope for Hard-to-Treat breast cancer: drug combo targets resistant tumors

Summary
This study tests a new drug, prifetrastat, combined with fulvestrant for people with advanced HR+/HER2- breast cancer whose cancer has stopped responding to standard hormone therapy and CDK4/6 inhibitors. The goal is to see if this combination can control the cancer by targeting KAT6 proteins involved in tumor growth. About 51 adults will take part, and researchers will monitor changes in tumor DNA to measure effectiveness.
