First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at babies and young children who develop type 1 diabetes before age 2, a very rare and extreme form of the disease. Researchers want to understand what goes wrong with the immune system to cause diabetes so early. They will study blood samples and genes from 300 participants, including children with diabetes and healthy controls, to find new ways to delay or prevent the disease.
