Scientists seek clues behind night owl disorder

NCT ID NCT06471374

First seen Jun 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026

Summary

This study aims to understand what causes Delayed Sleep Wake Phase Disorder (DSWPD), a condition where a person's internal clock makes them fall asleep and wake up much later than normal. Researchers will compare 66 people with DSWPD to healthy controls, measuring body temperature, blood sugar, and sleepiness, and testing a new blood test to predict circadian rhythms. The goal is to learn more about the disorder, not to test a treatment.
